The Amazfit company presented a new generation of its GTR series smartwatch just before the opening of the IFA 2022 trade fair in Berlin. According to GizmoChina, the Amazfit GTR 4 watch will offer two-week endurance and dual-band GPS.
High-quality display and two-week durability
The front of the body of the watch belongs to a relatively large and round 1.43-inch AMOLED display. It traditionally has excellent viewing angles, color rendering, and high brightness. Despite the full AMOLED display, the watch can last up to 14 days on a single charge with normal use, which is significantly more than in the case of competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch5.
The watch owes this to an optimized proprietary system, the disadvantage of which is the minimal number of applications you can install. Even so, the watch will offer up to 10 sports modes, advanced fitness functions, and other functions through the Zepp application. There is also an advanced Track-Run running mode, a new Golf Swing mode (for golf enthusiasts), and compatibility with Adidas Running.
Dual-band GPS and the option of navigation after a later update
Amazfit also plans to include support for the popular fitness app Strava through a later update. The watch comes with a new BioTracker 4.0 PPG optical sensor, which should provide much more accurate measurements than previous generations of watches. However, the main attraction is the dual-band GPS, thanks to which it will be possible to connect to five satellite systems and two at the same time, which will make your location more accurate.
Soon it will also be possible to import the route parameters from the Zepp app into the watch and be navigated along the route in real-time. Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant is also supported. The watch will be available with black, gray, and brown leather straps. The European price tag is set at 199.99 euros. Pre-sale in the Eurozone started on September 2nd, while general availability is scheduled for September 12th.
