Qualcomm is certainly one of the protagonists in the sector of hardware components for mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, and is preparing the debut of its next top-of-the-range.
We are clearly referring to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the top-of-the-range processor that will animate the Android flagships in the coming months. After the launch of the new mid-range processors, Qualcomm is working on finalizing the next high-end component.
In the last few hours, interesting details have emerged on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, thanks to the well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station. According to what has just emerged, the processor could arrive on the market in an enhanced variant.
This particularly powerful variant should differentiate itself in terms of maximum clock frequency. This should go up to 3.4 or 3.5 GHz. For reference, the fastest core of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 manages to hit 3.1 GHz.
There should also be improvements in terms of graphics performance, thanks to further GPU optimizations. At the moment, however, it is not clear what this variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be called and if it will be marketed globally.
We remind you that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 should be made according to TSMC ‘s 4nm manufacturing process.
To date, the debut date of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has not been defined but we assume that, if Qualcomm follows the annual schedule, the new processor should arrive towards the end of the year.
